Claveria Feb. 2, 1901 Feb. 2, 1901 22 Seized Claveria at dawn. Captured commandante of Burias, all the officials of Clayer, and important document. Under way for San Pascual.

Claveria Feb. 4, 1901 do. 27 Stopped off Claveria and brought on board several persons, including padre, shown by captured documents to be active insurgent.
Donsol do. Feb. 6, 1901 22 Landed soldiers, 33 prisoners and turned them over to commanding officer. Looking over captured documents. Turned them over to commanding officer at Donsol. Underway for Claveria.
Claveria Feb. 6, 1901 do. 22 Anchored. Sent boat with officer to get certain official papers, seals, etc. They could not be found. Got under way for Cebu.
West coast of Leyte Feb. 8, 1901 Feb. 13, 1901 231 Overhauled several paraos.
Cebu do. do. 231 Taking coal and stores from Justin; finished coaling. Overhauling machinery and boilers. Under way for Donsol via east coast of Tikao.
San Jacinto and Tikao Island Feb. 14, 1901 Feb. 14, 1901 160 Patrol duty, overhauled several paraos; towed one to San Jacinto. Sent officers and armed boats' crew to have look at town. Everything quiet. Officials and padre came on board. Wished protection from insurgents.
Donsol do. Feb. 15, 1901 43 Anchored. Sent boats and ferried troops across Donsol River. Fired 5-inch shell in direction of San Vicente; proceeded to Sorsogron.
Sorsogon Feb. 15, 1901 Feb. 16, 1901 28 Consulting in regard to military operations with army= officer commanding district 16th. Got under way; overhauled several paraos.
Margallanas Feb. 16, 1901 do. 18 Sent officer and armed boats to obtain information. People in this town are working in the interest of insurgents, furnishing supplies, etc. Got under way.
Bulan do. Feb. 17, 1901 10 Communicating with army. Inquiring about illicit traffic. Got under way.
Donsol Feb. 18, 1901 Feb. 19, 1901 22 Exercised ships' landing force on shore in skirmish drill and infantry drill. Got under way.
Claveria Feb. 19, 1901 do 22 Town quiet. New officials acting in interests of United States Government. Got under way.
Pasacao Feb. 20, 1901 Feb. 21, 1901 38 Anchored. Made arrangement to seize Delupaon been use of information of traffic with insurgents. Boat expedition left ship. Seized the town just before dawn.
Delupaon do. do. 8 Came up to Delupaon, took on board landing party, 8 prisoners, and a Spanish family and their effects. Got under way. By request of army officer commanding at Pasacao fired shells at insurgent positions difficult to reach with our troops.

Pasacao Feb. 21, 1901 Feb. 22, 1901 8 Anchored. Brought on board 2 officers and 51 men of Forty-fifty Infantry, and a medical officer. Got under way.
Ragay Bay Feb. 22, 1901 Feb. 24, 1901 35 Anchored near bar at mouth of Ragay River. Fired shells vicinity river mouth. Steam launch and 4 other boats went up river about 8 miles to Ragay with landing forces. Army and navy, 105 officers and men, 3 navy colt guns. Ragay was taken and occupied. Scouting parties were fired on by insurgents. Town and barracks, 5 tons rice and other supplies burned, and forces returned to ship.
Talkauayan Feb. 24, 1901 Feb. 25, 1901 16 Overhauled a brigantine flying an American flag. Found insurgent passes and United States papers for the master and supercargo and proof of contributions to the insurgents. Took those men in custody. Made search on shore, found some papers, and took 9 men to the ship for examination. Got under way and proceeded to Guinayan.
Guinayan Feb. 25, 1901 Feb. 26, 1901 8 Conferred with army officer commanding post and inspector of customs. Turned over 9 men and papers found at Talkanayan. Overhauled small steamer Freda flying American flag and believed to be concerned in illicit traffic. Got under way.
Binihian Feb. 26, 1901 do. 26 Landed a small party in search of information, insurgent district. Captain of bolo men lives near by. Got under way and proceeded to Point Sibono.
Point Sibono Feb. 27, 1901 1 Feb. 27, 1901 30 Sent in boat with officer and armed crew, and landed party of soldiers and scouts and officers to surprise and capture insurgent general, Areiola. To conceal the landing until the soldiers had time to follow up a trail in daylight, ship picked up her boats, proceeded to Pasacao and anchored there at daybreak. Went to Point Sibono, brought on board landing party and 2 prisoners. Insurgent general was not found, but a captain of cordons and his lieutenant were taken. Ship returned to Pasacao, landed the large party of soldiers, etc., who had come on board the 21st instant, also some prisoners. Brought on board 2 officers and some soldiers and scouts. Got under way for Point Kaurasan (with better information) to capture the insurgent general, Arejola.

Point Kaurasau Feb. 28, 1901 Feb. 28, 1901 13 Sent in cutter and just before dawn landed soldiers, scouts, and captain, and lieutenant of cordons (captured the day before) for use as guides. Insurgent general not captured, but in house in which he was sleeping two nights ago captured his chief commissary which was much wanted by the United States military government because of cruelties to Filipinos friendly to Americans. Captured another captain of cordons and other prisoners, also important documents, etc. Several boats and a landing party of sailors assisted in this work. Fired shells to clear a dangerous place.
Pasacao do. Mar. 1, 1901 13 Returned to Pasacao and landed soldiers and prisoners. Brought on board a detachment of soldiers and scouts and 600 army rations for other detachments expected to reach the coast from interior points. This ship cooperating in accordance with plans for combined operations. Got under way.
Pontao Mar. 1, 1901 Mar. 2, 1901 25 Landed three parties of sailors and soldiers. Destroyed some storehouses and supplies.
Palo ... do. 3 March 2 got under way and stood down the coast and fired shells at certain points. Went to Palo. Sent in landing parties. Worked up along the coast. Brought landing parties on board. Let ship drift off the coast during the night, using searchlight frequently as a signal to party of troops. Misty and raining. Detachment Company E, Forty-fifth Infantry (from Pili, Mar. 1), came out on Jamaruan Beach, brought them on board with guides, native bearers, and prisoners, 51 in all. Ship proceeded along coast. Sent a small landing party to beach at Saramac. Fired shells at several places. Company D, Forty-fifth Infantry (from Buhi, Mar. 1), with horses and pack mules came out on beach below Palo. Sent in boat with information, then proceeded to Pontao. Ship went up the coast, picked up party at Saramac, went to Pasacao, and anchored there at 11 p.m.

San Pascual Mar. 7, 1901 Mar. 14, 1901 23 At anchor San Pascual, Port Busin, overhauling and cleaning machinery, boats, etc. Mar. 8, captain of ship, with officer and 5 men, all mounted, made reconnaissance of island from Port Busin to Claveria; 15 hours in the saddle. Mar. 11, captain of the party returned to the ship. Natives in Bunas asked for permanent protection against insurgent leaders. Mar. 14, ship proceeded to Claveria, and thence to Donsol.
Donsol Mar. 14, 1901 Mar. 15, 1901 45 Sent in boats and ferried army expedition, soldiers, native bearers, and supplies over Donsol River. Has rifle ship and army officer commanding post at Donsol went in steam launch and gig with party of sailors and soldiers to vicinity of Palataun to intercept rice going to insurgents. The Petrelarrived with orders for this ship to proceed to Cebu. The captain and party returned. Had destroyed 3,300 pounds of rice. Got under way for Cebu.
Cebu Mar. 16, 1901 Mar. 25, 1901 172 Received men from Zafiro. Transferred short-time men and sick. Went out for target practice. Took in coal and stores.
Palanog Mar. 26, 1901 Mar. 27, 1901 155 Brought on board detachment Second Infantry.
Palanas Mar. 27, 1901 do. 28 Cooperated in expedition to Palanas. Villalobos joined at Palanas. Brought on board 2 officers and 45 men, Forty-seventh Infantry, also native scouts and guides.
