Working Hours at Navy Yards and Stations: General Order No. 232, 9 October 1877

Navy Department,
Washington, October 9, 1877.

[Working Hours at Navy Yards and Stations]

Hereafter, until further orders, the working hours at the several Navy Yards and Stations will be as follows:

 

At Portsmouth, N.H., and Boston, Mass.

 

From the 1st of October until the 15th of November, from 7.30 a.m. until 5 p.m.
From the 15th of November until the 14th of February, from 7.30 a.m. until 4.30 p.m.
From the 14th of February until the 1st of April, from 7.30 a.m. until 5 p.m.
From the 1st of April until the 1st of October, from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m.

 

At New London, New York, League Island, Washington, Norfolk, Pensacola, Key West, and Mare Island.

 

From the 1st of October until the 15th of November, from 7.30 a.m. until 5.30 p.m.
From the 15th of November until the 14th of February, from 7.30 a.m. until 5 p.m.
From the 14th of February until the 1st of April, from 7.30 a.m. until 5.30 p.m.
From the 1st of April until the 1st of October, from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m.

One hour will be allowed for dinner.
