30 DAYS LEAVE AUTHORIZATION FOR ALL PCS

A. TRANSMAN

1. COMMENCING WITH NOV 70 DETACHMENTS ALL OFFICER PCS ORDERS WILL GRANT 30 DAYS DELREP. ORDERS FOR DETACHMENT PRIOR TO NOV WILL GRANT 30 DAYS DELREP INSOFAR AS POSSIBLE. EXCEPTIONS TO THIS LEAVE AUTHORIZATION WILL BE MADE FOR OFFICERS ORDERED TO AND FROM SSBN'S, WHERE TWO-CREW CONCEPT PROVIDES AMPLE OPPORTUNITY FOR ANNUAL LEAVE WHILE ASSIGNED. OFFICERS RECEIVING SECOND PCS ORDERS WITHIN 12 MONTH PERIOD, HOME PORT CHANGES, AND INITIAL ORDERS TO ACTIVE DUTY ARE ALSO EXEMPT. IN CASES WERE EXTENUATING CIRCUMSTANCES REQUIRE ACCELERATED RELIEF, MAXIMUM DELREP WILL BE GRANTED. THESE EXCEPTIONS WILL BE FEW IN NUMBER AND WILL BE MONITORED BY THE CHIEF OF NAVAL PERSONNEL.

2. THE BASIC POLICY OF 30 DAYS DELREP FOR ENLISTED PERSONNEL CONTAINED IN REF A IS REAFFIRMED AND ACTIVITIES PREPARING ORDERS ARE DIRECTED TO COMPLY IN ALL CASES.

3. PERSONNEL ARE NOT REQUIRED TO UTILIZE ALL LEAVE AUTHORIZED BUT ARE ENCOURAGED TO AVAIL THEMSELVES OF THIS OPPORTUNITY FOR A WELL-DESERVED REST.
