Scope and Content Note

This collection consists of diaries, journals, correspondence, subject files, press clippings, scrapbooks, speeches, and personal orders covering all aspects of Admiral Harry Yarnell's career, including his command of the Asiatic Fleet from 1936 to 1939.

One section of these papers documents the activities in the period 1889-1909 of Rear Admiral Charles M. Thomas, Yarnell's father-in-law.

The Library of Congress also holds a collection of Admiral Yarnell's personal papers.
