Biographical Note:

Reverend Abbott, a retired U.S. Navy Commander, served as the Assistant Naval Attaché in the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv, Israel from 30 June 1990 to 1 July 1993. During the Gulf War, Commander Abbott was involved in Patriot missile deployment and in setting up a Strategic Warning Cell in the Israeli Headquarters.


Scope and Content Note:

This collection is arranged into two series. The first contains Commander Abbott's letters and writings. In the second is a questionnaire he prepared at the request of an author of a book for teenagers about the Gulf War.
