Scope and Content Note

Vice Admiral Ralph A. Ofstie served in naval aviation billets during World War II. These papers primarily refer to combat operations in World War II, to the role of the Navy in national strategy, and to the organization of the Department of Defense. The collection is composed of clippings, correspondence, speeches, and publications. Much semi-official correspondence with important naval contemporaries is included.
