Biography

Scope and Content Note

This comprehensive collection includes official correspondence as well as letters between William Pratt and his family. A number of special subject files are also present, including documentation on USS William V. Pratt (DLG-13), the London and Geneva Disarmament Conferences (1927-1930), and an unpublished biographical manuscript. Much of the material in this collection dates from 1930-1933, when Pratt served as Chief of Naval Operations. Family correspondence dated 1895-1960 is included as well. Some of this collection consists of copies of original documents held by the Naval War College.
