Biographical Note

Chief Specialist (A)(AA) John D. Anderson, USN, was an Athletics Instructor (1942-1944) and Physical Training Instructor (1944-1948) at Great Lakes Naval Training Station/Great Lakes Naval Training Center in Illinois.


Scope and Content Note

Recruitment training records of Great Lakes Naval Training Station, instruction memos, muster sheets, recruit training orders and lectures, pictorial manual of naval vessels, and logbook of companies are included in this collection.

Twenty four photographs relating to Chief Specialist Anderson's World War II service as a "Boot" Company Commander at Naval Training Center, Great Lakes Illinois were transferred to the Photographic Section of the Naval Historical Center's Curator Branch.
