Scope and Content Note

This collection contains technical and operational reports of Admiral Andrew McKee relating to the sinking of USS Squalus in 1939. These reports date from 28 May to 18 September 1939.

Other information includes the text of a lecture on the development of submarines from the 17th to the 20th century, which was delivered before the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers in Nov. 1943. An additional lecture series, "The Stability of Ships and Damage Control" was delivered at the Naval Academy in 1929. The collection also contains the technical bulletin "A Report on Salvage Operations, Submarine S-51, 1927."
