Scope and Content Notes

This collection contains the records and correspondence of Dr. Sidney Sideman, a LCDR and orthopedic surgeon in the Pacific theater during World War II. The correspondence from 23 November 1944-8 November 1945 is from Dr. Sideman's patients. Other correspondence from 17 August 1943-1 November 1950 is regarding official matters. The collection also contains a statistical survey of treatment, patient cards (approximately 120), medical charts, and the March 1945 issue of HYGEIA magazine. Miscellaneous items include newspaper clippings about the death of Robert Roark, a journalist.
