Scope and Content Note

These papers consist of correspondence, articles, newspaper clippings, and histories of female naval personnel collected by Captain Louise K. Wilde. Wilde served as Assistant Chief of Personnel for Women from 1953 to 1957. As a retired officer, Wilde began writing a history of the WAVES program. Two preliminary chapters in that work were completed and are included in this collection.
