This group of correspondence, publications, and printed material relates to Admiral Robert English's tours with the Hydrographic Office, 1939-1941; service on the staff of Amphibious Force, Atlantic Fleet, 1942-1943; at Allied Force Headquarters, Mediterranean, 1943; on Northwest African Waters Naval Forces, 1944; with Eighth Fleet, 1944-1945; with Supreme Headquarters, Allied Expeditionary Force, 1945; as Assistant U.S. Naval Attaché, Paris, 1945-1946; and on the staff of U.S. Naval Forces, Europe, 1946.
