Scope and Content Note

The Papers of Virginia C. Williford hold material related to her service in the WAVES during World War II. Items in the collection include Our Days at United States Naval Training School (Women's Reserve), Bronx, New York, brochure; Conning Tower, U.S. Naval Training School (WR), May 1944; Divine Services summary, 14 May 1944; U.S. Naval Training School (WR); The Louisville Times Daily Magazine, 31 July 1944; a picture of the WAVES' second birthday party on the Washington Monument grounds; and a Bill of Fare for the General Mess at the U.S. Naval Barracks Commissary, 5-11 March 1945.
