Harkins, Commander Daniel J. Papers

Collection Number: COLL/191

Finding aid (Word)

Scope and Content Note

This collection is arranged in two folders. The first folder contains Commander Harkins' service record and a transcript of his fitness reports. In the second folder are an autobiographical account of his work as an intelligence officer and explanations of the circumstances that led to allegations of Commander Harkins being a Nazi spy. This is an interesting personal account that demonstrates many of the political tensions during the pre-war, World War II, and early Cold War periods.
