Scope and Content Note

This group of documents covers Rear Admiral Paulus P. Powell's naval career and his activities in private business and public foundations after World War II. Diaries, correspondence, miscellaneous publications, and subject files are in the group. Of special note is material relating to Powell's duty with the U.S. Naval Mission to Brazil (1937-1939) and as Chief of Staff to the Commander, Third Amphibious Force (1943-1945).
