Battick, John F.
Papers, 1950-1997

John F. Battick was professor of history at the University of Maine. The collection consists of materials gathered by Professor Battick in association with his course in Maritime history. Included are periodicals, pamphlets, and brochures concerning ports, harbors, ships, shipbuilding, and marine equipment. Some course materials are also included.

Remick Family
Papers, 1686-1945

Remick family papers include items that date to the late 17th century. Most of the papers concern Oliver P. Remick and his service in the U.S. Revenue Cutter Service, forerunner of the U.S. Coast Guard, from 1876-1895. Included are some earlier and later family materials, historical Revenue Cutter Service materials, and papers pertaining to the U.S. Navy and the Naval Shipyard at Kittery, Maine. Also contains unpublished manuscripts of Martha Remick.

Reynolds, Clark G.
Papers, 1974

Dr. Reynolds was born in California in 1939. He received his BA from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1961, his M.A. from Duke in 1963 and Ph.D. from Duke in 1964. He taught at the United States Naval Academy from 1964-1968. He came to the University of Maine in 1968, and was made full professor in 1974. He left the University of Maine in 1976.

The collection includes the manuscripts, proof sheets, galley proofs, and some notes from the book Command of the Sea, authored by Professor Reynolds.
