2003. Your 8966.1 Proposed plan has been considered many times. There is no objection except that there are no destroyers available for providing the escort. Under present programme fast liners carrying U.S.troops to England make a round trip in 40 days, and every destroyer available is utilised recently it was necessary to postpone westward sailing of slow convoy in order to get destroyers for escort of eastbound troop transports. All convoys have increased in size and the additional 11-1/2 knot tropp convoy requires every destroyer available. 20229. 2003.
