7967. Liberty Engines in use Navy giving trouble due crankshaft failure in webs at Number 6 bearing. All Navy Engines begin with Number 623 and few before that Number equipped with shaft having heavier Webs which will remedy trouble. To date 236 engines shipped France of which 82 have heavy shaft 199 engines shipped England of which 89 have heavy shafts. Heavy shafts will be shipped as available for Engines not so equipped. Care should be taken that in operating engines until heavy shafts are installed. 16001 7967.
