460. British Royal Air Force request that they be furnished 50 flying boat pilots and 50 seaplane pilots as normal reinforcements to their Forces as soon as possible and that they be furnished 50 flying boat pilots monthly after the arrival of the first detachment. These pilots to be withdrawn by us on 60 days notice. In view of the impending serious shortage of pilots and aviation personnel, strongly recommend that we make every effort to put these reinforcements at disposal of British Government as soon as our own aviation requirements as regards personnel have been satisfied.Such co-operation with our Allies will conduce to mutual efficiency and the personnel so trained will be invaluable to operate our Naval Air Stations in Europe. Request advice as to probable number of pilots which can be turned over to British Government and probable date of their arrival. 00502  460
