6476. Mr. Samuel Gompers the Labor Leader with total party of 7 arrives Havre from Southampton morning September 24. Department states “<no> private citizen in America has done more to make right public sentiment for a vigorous prosecution of war,” and directs that Navy extend every facility regarding transportation and opportunity to observe Navy’s work. Please have Port Officer Havre1 meet party and arrange their transportation Paris via early train. Also please have Navy representatives assist party wherever they go. 175318. 6476.
