5126.     How many depth charges will be shipped via USS CANTON. From your 16191 it appears that this would provide for depth charges reaching Base 6 not before end October. Referring my 4880 I repeat my request can following shipments be made 1000 each to following bases 27 9 25 and 6, and an additional 1000 to base 7.2 The bases are widely separated and it is very difficult to retranship large quantities depth charges after arrival on this side without involving protracted delays. It is urgently requested that arrangements be made to ship depth charges direct to each base as soon as possible. 173519 5126.
