978. 134 Alnav.1 The office of commander submarine force Atlantic fleet and supervisor of all submarines in commission is hereby discontinued. The duties of this office will hereafter be performed in the office of Naval Operations by director of submarines which is hereby established. All fleet and submarine force regulations cruising instructions force orders and force doctrines will remain in effect. All communications heretofore addressed to the commander submarine force Atlantic fleet and supervisor of all submarines in commission will be addressed to director of submarines submarine base New London, Conn. As soon as quarters are available the office of director will be transferred to the Navy Department, Washington, D.C. Signed S. S. Robison. 19005 978.
