6834.  Following from Cone1 QUOTE Am sending officer Italy to investigate among other duties possibility having manufactured in Italy Caproni for night bombing program. Request authority contract necessary planes for this project. Possibility obtaining these planes will probably depend your supplying number of Liberty Motors equal to number of motors to be supplied by Italians and amount of raw material equal that used in manufacturing planes for us. Request prompt reply. UNQUOTE. Have authorized purchase of Caproni Planes. Request information relative number of Liberty Motors to be supplied. 22221    6834.
