Source Note: Cy, DNA, RG 45, Entry 517B. There is a discrepancy with the dating of this cable. Someone typed 3 April but then it was crossed through and a stamped date of 4 April was inserted below the crossed through date. The same is true of the time/date stamp at the end of the text. Someone crossed through the original “13103” and handwrote “09104.” There is a document identifier in the upper right-hand corner: “Mat. 1 E.” Below close is note: “Copy to Bun. C&R, Ord, SE.” These are, presumably, the bureaus of Navigation; Construction and Repair; Ordnance; and Steam Engineering.
