695. 131 Alnav.2 By agreement with the Treasury Department the following exceptions to quarantine regulations are promulgated:

1st, vessels under control of the Navy Department shall stop in quarantine for inspection and any other measures that may be necessary when the vessel does not carry a medical officer.

2nd, vessels carrying a medical officer shall stop at quarantine if there is any quarantinable disease on board or any case suspected of quarantinable disease, but if in the opinion of the medical officer there are no such cases there is no necessity for stopping for quarantine formalities.

The Fuel Administration has called upon the public to cease the use of all classes of automobiles, motor cycles and motor boats on Sundays until further notice as a gasoline conservation measure. At present it gives notice that unless this voluntary request is complied with a mandatory order prohibiting the use of gasoline on Sundays will be issued. In view of the necessity of conserving the consumption of gasoline it is hereby directed that no land or water vehicle using gasoline in the Naval service be used on Sundays unless it is for essential military purposes, and that every effort be made to limit these essential services on Sundays except in the War Zone. 09030. 695.
