Navy Unit Commendation - Units of CTG 115.7 participating in Operation SEA FLOAT.

The Secretary of the Navy takes pleasure in presenting the NAVY UNIT COMMENDATION to

UNITS OF CTG 115.7
PARTICIPATING IN OPERATION SEA FLOAT

for service as set forth in the following

CITATION:

For exceptionally meritorious service from 24 June 1969 to 24 October 1969 during operations against enemy forces in the Republic of Vietnam. During this period, SEA FLOAT operating forces in the lower Cam Mau peninsula successfully executed its threefold mission of seeking out and destroying the enemy and conducting an extensive psychological operations program. SEA FLOAT units inflicted numerous enemy casualties and captured or destroyed countless tons of food and supplies. As areas were brought under the control of the Government of the Republic of Vietnam, SEA FLOAT operating forces moved north and south of the Cau Lon river, pushing the enemy far from the new settlement and adjacent waterways. Intense and accurate helicopter gunship, tactical air and naval gunfire support inflicted heavy personnel and material losses on the enemy and denied him the sanctuary which he enjoyed for so long. By their outstanding courage, resourcefulness, fighting spirit and dedication in the face of hostile automatic weapons fire, mines, and adverse weather and terrain, the officers and men participating in operation SEA FLOAT contributed greatly to United States efforts in the Republic of Vietnam and upheld the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.
