846. My 8311 Sailing hour 4:00 p.m. today but enemy submarines sighted submerged and bombed by seaplanes 10 miles East Southeast Gibraltar 6:30 this morning 17th. At request Senior Naval Officer2 I ordered Commander Nelson3 take all submarine chasers locate and attack with orders to return to-night refuel and proceed on earliest hour practicable.  12317.  846
