TRANSLATION

BOX:   U. S. Naval officers and personnel assigned to duty in foreign vessels transporting US troops and sailing in U S convoys are assigned for the following purposes (A) To care for secret codes and instructions necessary for operation (B) To interpret for the benefit of the foreign captain instructions and orders received (C) To insure proper communication with convoy Commander (D) To act in advisory capacity to the Captain of vessel period Other than as above provided officers have no authority 16010
