Urgent your 7417. I consider safest means of transferring personnel to Italy is in regular troop convoy to France thence by railroad to destination period. Equivalent loss of cargo to Italy could be made good by cargo ships period. Whole Mediterranean Sea is danger zone and is to be avoided by troop transports if possible period. I will try to arrange for escort for <GIUSEPPE> VERDI through Mediterranean Sea. 17419
