9623.     Your 6811.1   With reference dazzle painting Admiralty states white paint is being given up in favor of number one gray grayblue or graygreen on dazzle designs because white paint was found to show up the ship in moonlight and under certain circumstances against a misty background. Admiralty cabled this information to camouflage section Navy Department May twenty-third. 01016,  9623.
