6746. Your 8815.1 No previous intimation heavy coal demand at Azores Islands received. Due to shortage bottoms unable to comply this side with expenditure as. Do not desire undertake mainteinance coal supply for merchant vessels except in exceptional cases and then only in an emergency. Ships westbound in ballast should be be utilised to fulfill Azores Islands Naval needs with coal out of England. Request Admiralty to assist this. Our colliers engaged supplying Halifax, Nova Scotia Bermuda Islands Trinidad Islands W. I. and all Naval Atlantic coaling stations. 16001. 6746.
