#2710 Chasers based upon Corfu will draw their supply of gasoline from storage tank at Port Coata (?) [Port Costa] Sicily period This will entail the use of a gasoline carrying vessel of capacity 200 to 500 tons period Admiralty is unable to locate suitable vessel for this purpose comma and the Navy Department have thus far been unable to supply our need period Will you kindly approach French authorities and request their good offices in the matter of securing suitable vessel French source period ----- possible to install tank in one of your HOPPER barges and assign her to this work or secure vessel French Government comma Chasers will be rendered immobile for at least part of the time period Will you please give careful consideration to the gravity of this subject and assist xx me to the extent of your resources. 18308 2710 SIMS
