890 British Ministry of shipping are recommending that all large vesels carrying U.S. TROOPS like OLYMPIC, LEVIATHAN, AQUITANIA MAURETANIA and so forth use Brest instead of English Ports. Do you consider that Brest can handle these very large ships, having regard to their inability to lie safely at anchor owing to light anchor gear and the probable requirement of 8000 tons of coal for each ship. Immediate reply requested.1 16508.
