1045.     Your 1322.2 Chief General Staff3 offers for immediate use three cruisers now West Indies detail to establish convoy. Preparing statement material readiness of 2 cruisers, now under repair, with complement short of crew needed for us to man them. Vessels available with French crews are GLOI<RE>, DUPETIT-THOUARS and GUEYDON probably. Will furnish complete statement of other 2 to be manned by American crews by mail.4 110129.
