Admiral Sir David Beatty, Commander-in-Chief, Grand Fleet, to Grand Fleet

              NAVAL SIGNAL.

From: C. in C.           To: General         Date 11-11-18

          G. F.                            Time 0948

The Armistice has been signed but it is doubtful whether there is sufficient authority in Germany to enforce it. Hostilities are to be suspended with exception that Anti-Submarine defences are to remain in force.1
