VERY SECRET.

1721.  For General Pershing. Referring to your cable March 24,1 the whole subject of ships to transport U.S. troops is being handled by the War Department in Washington and is under discussion there at the present moment with British Representatives. No decision has as yet been reached as to the British ships that will be allocated for carrying U.S. troops to France. I shall advise you if I am informed of the decisions reached in Washington.   1721
