1918           SUNDAY 13           JANUARY

. . . While at church, telephone from Earle1 & in afternoon went over statement showing that Navy in ordnance had done wonderfully well. Oliver to get up statement.2

Vogelgesang3 just returned from Japan & China. Thinks Japan could not fight us & little danger there.

Our trouble would be lack of base . . .
