Interview and Statement Transcripts,
1942-1946

NOTE: THIS COLLECTION HAS BEEN TRANSFERRED TO THE NATIONAL ARCHIVES IN COLLEGE PARK, MARYLAND.

Scope and Content Note

This collection contains transcripts of interviews and statements of Navy, Marine Corps, Army, and Army Air Corps personnel who served in World War II. Most of the interviewees served as officers, but interviews with a smaller number of enlisted personnel and civilians are also present. The interviews were done shortly after combat missions, and generally relate to a specific operation, mission, or sinking. In addition, a few of the documents are on general topics, such as early submarines, submarine war patrols, and intelligence gathering.

The material in this collection includes both the final version of the transcript and drafts, often with handwritten corrections. They are arranged alphabetically by last name.
