___________
The Lord is in His holy temple
Let all the earth keep silence before Him.
* * * *
A prayer to be repeated silently:
"Our Father, send Thy blessings upon us as we are gathered here at this hour to worship Thee and honor our Mothers. May this period of worship inspire in, us a deeper reverence for holy things; may it inspire us to a more unselfish service to our fellow men; may it be such that Thy Name shall be more precious to each of us. Bless, Oh God, the homes and Mothers of this ship.
Amen.
Call to Worship:
(All Standing)
God be merciful unto us, and bless us: and show us
the light of His countenance, and be merciful unto us.
That Thy way may be known upon the earth: Thy saving health among all nations.
Let the people praise Thee, O God: yea, let all the people praise Thee.
O let the nations rejoice and be glad: for Thou shalt judge the folk righteously, and govern the nations upon the earth.
Let the people praise Thee, O God: yea, let all the people praise Thee.

The Lord's Prayer: (To be said by all)
Our Father, Who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.
"Gloria Patri" | Hymn No. 239 |
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.

Mothers' Day
MOTHER sounds so much better and especially on "Mothers' Day". So, Mother, it shall be! Parents do not receive the respect from their children that is justly due them. Call her Mother! Mothers' Day is one day when we should allow ourselves to express our inner feelings. This day is a wonderful asset to the American home, and it should cause children to use a more reasonable consideration for their parents. We children, those of us who can, should visit our mother on this day and bring enjoyment to the one who loves us most. Where this is impossible, the least we can do, is to write. Make a small sacrifice of time and write to your mother. Through our recklessness, selfishness, and thoughtlessness we bring severe pain to our parents, and we should not do this, because mother love is the source of divine inspiration. Keep her love, and give her love - it is dear. There are times when parents have to be cruel to be kind - we realize this often, when it is too late. Children should always be kind and respectful to their parents. Surely we can each write a letter home, it will be the least we can do to show our love!
