6960. In view of certain inaccurate statements appearing in American and British press the following is furnished for the Department’s information. United States Naval vessels have escorted sixty-one percent of all United States troops over seas and the percentage is increasing[.] British Naval Vessels have escorted about seventy percent of all overseas shipping which has proceeded in convoy, including neutral and allied vessels and including transports and cargo vessels 152014 6960
