To: Commander, Patrol Squadron operating on French Coast.
Subject: U.S.Naval Vessels engaged in Coal Trade for U.S.Army.
The U.S.Naval vessels engaged in the coal trade for U.S.Army are placed for purposes of administration and discipline under your command.
At the present time there are engaged in this service the HOUSTON, CAMDEN, BATH and NERO. The CAMDEN is shortly to be withdrawn and to be replaced by the BEAUFORT.
A copy of this letter has been furnished to the vessels concerned, and the Commanding Officers of these vessels have been ordered to report to you by letter.
