Visit the Washington Navy Yard

Gate access to the Washington Navy Yard is controlled by Commander Naval District Washington. Please note that the base security protocol can change without notice. Refer to the Naval District Washington site for updates.

ACCESS

All visitors must have a photo ID to enter the Washington Navy Yard. Visitors without a DOD CAC or military ID must report to the Visitors Center at the 11th and O Street gates. Please refer to the Naval District Washington site for more information about the requirements to access the Washington Navy Yard.

Visitors who wish to drive on base must also have their vehicle registration and proof of insurance. 

On weekdays, the primary access gate is 11th and O Streets SE (GPS address is 1022 O Street SE, Washington, D.C.).

GETTING HERE

The Washington Navy Yard is located in Southeast Washington, D.C., bounded by the Anacostia River and the 11th Street Bridge. 

The WNY is several blocks east of the Navy Yard Metro (Green Line) and several blocks south of the Eastern Market Metro (Blue/Orange Lines).

The DC Circulator bus originating from Union Station and various Metro buses provide service to the Yard.
