S I R :--

     You will proceed, in company with the U.S.S.NEWARK, “SUWANEE”, “OSCEOLA” and “WOMPATUCK” and “ALVARADO”, to the Isle of Pines, Cuba, convoying the U.S.S.RESOLUTE, and assist in the landing of the Marine Battalion and their equipments.

     2.   When this duty is completed, you will maintain the blockade, with great care, in the vicinity of this Island.
