Medical Inspector Abel F. Price to Captain Charles V. Gridley
U.S.F.S. Olympia,
Manila, May 1st, 1898.
Sir:
I have the honor to report that in the battle of this day there were no killed or wounded on this ship.
The following accidents occurred:
1. Calkins, CG Lieutenant,1 bruised his right knee by striking it against a ladder.
2. Forstrom, Olaf, osea2 received a cut over the right eye brow while opening a gun breech.
3. Heany, John,3 Boatswain’s mate 1st class: received an injury of his little and ring fingers of the left hand from a gun recoil.
4. Shay, Ralph,4 sea, cut his left foot slightly with an axe while cutting away some [illegible] gear.
