California IV (Motor Boat)

1917-1918

California was admitted to the Union 8 September 1850 as the 31st State.

IV

The fourth California (No. 647), an 58-foot motor boat, was leased from the San Francisco Bar Pilot's Association and commissioned in the Navy on 28 April1917. The motor boat performed harbor patrol duties and acted as guard boat for Pier 29 at San Francisco until 23 November 1918 when she was returned to her owner.
