Caption: Commander Richard L. Page, Con-Federate State Navy. Established Confederate Ordnance Factories at Charlotte, N.C. in 1864, he was made Brigadier-General and commanded the outer defenses of Mobile Bay. After the war he became superintendent of schools in Norfolk, Virginia. Served in United States Navy as: midshipman 1 March 1824, passed 20 February 1830, Lieutenant 26 March 1834, commander 14 September 1855 and Dismissed 22 April 1861.
