Caption: Soldier Field, Great Lakes, Illinois - In 1917, 50 years ago, the "Living Flag" was formed by 10,000 recruits on the parade ground at Great Lakes. The "Living Flag" is now presented by 10,000 Navy men graduating from Great Lakes Recruit Training Center to honor and support the men and women in the Armed Forces of the United States, and to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the "Living Flag".
