NHF-034 Rear Admiral Roger Welles Collection

Album of 26 photographs commemorating the 11-14 May 1925 Pan American visit in Virginia. Book presented by the Virginia State Chamber of Commerce. This particular copy is inscribed to Rear Admiral Roger Welles who was Commandant of the 5th Naval District and also of the Naval Operating Base at Hampton Roads. Shown are foreign dignitaries and US Navy personnel (including RADM Welles) at US naval bases and airfields (possibly Hampton Roads) touring drydock, battleships, and observing aircraft in formation flight. Vinyl album binder suffered from serious mold issues, and was not retained.
