42 black and white images, including some oversize prints, from the U.S. Navy service of Admiral Frederick J. Horne, covering the periods from the late 1890’s until just after World War II. Many photos of Horne at functions and meeting with individuals of note. Group photos of flag officers on board USS Pennsylvania (BB-38) including Admiral Joseph Reeves, Admiral David Sellers, Vice Admiral Walter Sexton, Vice Admiral Frank Brumby, Assistant Secretary of the Navy Henry Roosevelt, and numerous others; officers of USS Saratoga (CV-3) 1929-1930; Admiral Ernest J. King; Captain Patrick Bellinger; Naval Training Station San Diego; Admiral Horne receiving the Order of Legion D’Honneur in 1949; Lieutenant Thomas Holcomb; Brigadier General William Arnold; Secretary of War Robert Patterson decorates Horne with the Legion of Merit, 1946; group portrait on board USS Indianapolis (CA-35) circa 1933-1934 including Secretary of the Navy Claude Swanson;  USS Missouri (BB-63) surrender plaque; USS Langley (CV-1); USS Lexington (CV-2); USS Decatur (DD-341); USS Ranger (CV-4); USS Catoctin (AGC-5); Secretary of the Navy James Forrestal presenting Horne with the Distinguished Service Medal; US Naval Academy Class of 1899, taken in 1896. A number of the photos are autographed by individuals of note. Many photos have been assigned NH numbers.
