The photos relate to the Philippines and Oahu, Hawaii during 1944 and 1945, specifically: Papua-New Guinea (Milne Bay, Finschhafen, & Hollandia); Lingayen, Luzon, Philippines (Grand Island in Subic Bay, San Fabian, Clark Field, Kalakan Point, Olongpao, Subic, & San Fernando) ; Leyte; Fort Drum in Manila Harbor (and its destruction?); Corregidor; Bataan; Mapia Island; Palawan; Zamboanga; Maraveles; Santo Tomas Prison in Manila; & Oahu, Hawaii (including Camp Erdman). Additional subject matter consists of Navy surgeons helping native populations; Good Friday Ceremony at Subic Church – March 30, 1945; Devotions on Good Friday on USS Blue Ridge – March 30, 1945; Navy dentists at work; War Damage; USS Blue Ridge (LCC-19); USS General Hugh L Scott (AP-136); & USS Denver (CL-58). The album contains excellent imagery of engagements and battles in the Philippines, as well as its aftermath.
